Trouw is temporary and will close her doors forever on January 3rd. Trouw wouldn’t be the meeting place and breeding ground that it is today without the people working there day and night. This series puts various Trouw employees in the spotlight. From the light people, to the door host: all nodes of Trouw will see their place on the pedestal. Today: Tim - restaraunt employee at Trouw.
Tim started out in the hospitality business. 'My parents are obsessed about good food. I was brought up on fine dining. So once I reached the age to start looking for a part-time job, it seemed a good idea to work in a restaurant. I started at De Kas in Amsterdam, a restaurant where you sit in a greenhouse amongst the herbs and vegetables.'
When Trouw opened her doors in April 2009, Tim saw his opportunity. 'Everything felt right here. A specialty kitchen, great colleagues, and of course a really special location for a restaurant, it all really appealed to me. I’ll be honest, I’d never even dared dream that I’d later also become a resident artist here. In fact, I didn’t even think about the possibility of being able to work as a DJ when I applied for a job in the restaurant.'
