Discovery is a progressive night festival focussed on the thrill of exploring new things. The festival is coming to Trouw on Friday September 27th and Bartaku is one of the researchers who will be using Discovery Festival as their playground.
The best scientific discoveries are often caused by accidental outcome of silly ideas. The artist Bartaku bases his research on his admiration for science and technology, and uses his intuition and natural dye in solar cells to search for new ways of creating energy. His experiment uses your most sensitive organ: your tongue.
His experiments are all about the transformation of light energy into electric energy. By fusing alchemy, cooking and solar tech and designs, visitors of Discovery Festival will learn how to create ‘digestopias' with different aesthetics, tastes, consistencies and smells. After creating these e-tapas, you can test and taste the material on their own tickling tongues.
Bartaku and other scientists are grab the chance to involve the public in their experiments, including experiments with language, sound, networks and even with your own urine. You can find Bartaku’s e-tapas on September 27th between 21.00 and 24.00 in De Hal next to De Verdieping in the basement.
