DJ Dimitri, Trouw resident and Dutch house icon, is back after an illness that cost him one of his legs. Despite all the pain he managed to keep cool and work his way back into the club. On Saturday September 7th he will be playing a highly anticipated all nighter.
It was bacteroides fragilis that caused the ordeal DJ Dimitri went through between January and May 2013. Due to various complications surgeons were forced to amputate a large part of his right leg, just underneath the knee. Knowing the last operation took place on April 17th, it is truly amazing that Dimitri is almost back on track. It took him no longer than 7 weeks to walk again with the help of a prothesis, which is an all time record according to his doctors. The guy proved to have an extraordinary willpower plus the physical strength to carry on, no matter what difficulties occurred.
Now, in one week time, Dimitri will be back in his favourite spot: the DJ-booth. It is impossible to describe the emotional impact on both him and the crowd. But one thing is for sure: we will all be cheering our lungs out for him!
The event is officially sold out, but a handful of tickets is still available at the door. This is going to be a night to remember, definitely!
