Dimitri returns behind the turntables on September 7th

18-07-2013 | 11.02

On March the 18th this year, it became clear that  a part of Dimitri's right leg had to be amputated due to (in the first place) a bacterial infection. The shock was tremendous, but Dimitri persevered with determination. He was highly focused on his rehabilitation and it paid off. We extremely happy to tell you that our resident Dimitri will be behind our turntable once again on Saturday September 7th, playing a 6-hour set.

Heliomare, the rehabilitation clinic where Dimitri spent most of his time recovering, calls it a super speed recovery. But it can’t go fast enough for Dimitri. He told us that it has been a difficult time with a lot of moments of physical and mental pressure. But from the moment that he was out of the lethal danger zone, he completely focused on his recovery. Dimitri now walks with a prosthetic leg and is working on getting an adapted driving license.

The proceedings of the benefit we organised for Dimitri on May 5th made it possible for Dimitri to recover in peace and quiet. He also was able to keep his house and buy an adjusted car. He’s very grateful to everyone who helped him through these tough times. With these proceedings he could maintain his independence and the knowledge that so many people supporting him, gave him to power to go on.

Dimitri’s first performance will be on Saturday September 7th. He’ll do his usual 6-hour set, which he’s already preparing for. There’s a lot of catching up to do, but he’s ready to take on the challenge. Dimitri is moving on.
