Acts that provide their live-set by playing live instruments are hot. After well-respected names such as Caribou and SBTRKT conquered the world, it seems like it's time for the British duo Disclosure to do the same. This duo consisting of the brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence created an innovative new sound with their concoction of different genres.
The live performances by the two brothers are certainly impressive because, in despite of the fact that there’s just the two of them and that they play almost every instrument live, they’re able to put forward a very rich sound. Combined with their enthusiastic performance, they’re a guarantee for a diverse, lively and especially danceable night.
The fact that the groaning from ‘What’s In Your Head’ was played through the speakers of festivals all over the world can be seen as a confirmation of the immense popularity of the British duo. From all over the music world, people have embraced their songs. That's probably the strength of the music from the two brothers: the perfect mix of deep-house and dub-garage that seems to appeal to people from different music backgrounds. It doesn’t come as a surprise to me that the name of the duo can be found on a lot of the line-ups of next summer’s festivals.
Those big festivals are great and all, but nothing beats a smaller and more intimate setting in my opinion. That is why I’m glad that Trouw will be giving me the opportunity to see them in the club on Thursday the 28th of March.
