It's that time of year again! The Museumnight has always been one of the events we heavily look forward to. One of the few times in the year where we let our cultural heart speak in the midst of the night throughout the city.
On the 3rd November, fifty of the most prominent museums in Amsterdam will open their doors at night for the thirteenth time. After all of your museum visits you can of course go to Trouw with a nice discount. For just a tenner, you can enjoy the Belgian house-duo FCL aka San Soda & Red D all night long. The guys from Rush Hour, Roel de Boer and Boye, will be doing it big in De Verdieping. The decision is as easy as pie!
But it is harder to decide which events to visit before partying in Trouw. That's why we've lined up the best for you, so you can go out carefree!
These are our recommendations:
The Tropenmuseum: The Tropenmuseum on the Mauritskade will be apple flavoured on the 3rd of November. The museum will be transformed into a dancing valhalla in cooperation with Appelsap. With acts such as Viccrezee, Jameszoo and Jeff Solo, this will surely turn out to be a really fun event in the East of Amsterdam.
EYE: The EYE just has to be on this list. During the Museumnight, EYE will display multiple films like Nosferatu, eine Symfonie des Grauens, one of the oldest horrorfilms from the German Expressionism and the Hitchcock classic Psycho. True moviebuffs know where to be!
After all the different movie displays, you can also visit Suspense at the Arena with Cinnaman. Cinnaman, known from his Colors nights and his residency in Trouw, will undoubtetly show you his musical diversity from 00:00 until 02:00.
The Stedelijk Café: The Stedelijk is back in business and will be participating at it’s peak this Museumnight. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit the new Stedelijk, this is your chance. The Stedelijk Café is open all night during the Museumnacht to chill out, have some drinks, to people watch and of course to satisfy your nightly appitite.
Hermitage Amsterdam / Van Gogh Museum: At Lichtkunst you can let your creative mind go wild with the art form of light sculpting under the guidance of the leading professionals in the field. We're still not playing enough with the medium of light, so go and see this for yourself!
&Foam: Prepare to be stunned by some eye-catching oddities. Central to the exhibit is The Eddie the Eagle Museum Out of Your League, inspired by the work of the marvelous Diane Arbus. And to top it all off, our resident San Proper will look after the music. Bullseye!
And after all those museum activities and cultural happenings, it’s time for Trouw! Because we’ll keep the party going strong.
