The Sunday feeling of photographer Alicia Carrera

The Sunday feeling of photographer Alicia Carrera

24-10-2012 | 11.17

Sunday: the day named after the source of all warmth. Sunday has been a day of resting for centuries and Trouw op Zondag has always conveyed that sultry, relaxed and homey atmosphere. Our ADE Residents Special held this weekend was no exception. This is how all Sundays should be! Portraying the perfect Sunday feeling in an image is no easy task! Fortunately, the photographer Alicia Carrera comes darn close to the real thing.

Alicia Carrera is from a small coastal town located in the northwest of Spain. Her home environment is her main source of inspiration, which is clearly visible in her photos. Living at the Atlantic coast, she started studying the nature surrounding her. Water, forests and of course the light play a key role in her work. Before taking a picture, she patiently waits until the right moment presents itself. The moment where light and nature come together beautifully to deliver the perfect picture. She knows how to combine the elements of light and emotion like no other. No only an amazing sight to behold but also great to convey that ultimate Sunday feeling.

To capture a relaxed, laidback party in one photo may seem easy, but is really difficult. Alicia makes it look damn effortless and knows how to visualize that special Trouw op Zondag feel. And that’s exactly why we displayed her work on the big screen during the last editions of Trouw op Zondag.
