You surely must have noticed by now: the Unseen Photo Fair 2012 is just around the corner! Unseen is a brand new initiative of Foam, Platform A en Vandejong in order to create a platform for young, fresh photography. Unseen has invited galeries from around the globe that are interested in discovering new talent, unreleased work from famous photographers and revolutionary developments in the world of photography. By doing so, Unseen wants to serve as a source of inspiration to others lovers of photography!
Unseen has invited more than 50 international galeries for this event. They are different on almost every level, but they have one thing in common: they are all the best in their field of photography. The G/P Gallery from Tokyo and the Paradise Row from Londen are just two of the names on this marvelous list of galeries.
But you shouldn’t think that Unseen is just for the experts and the high-end buyers. Unseen wants to encourage people to take the leap and make their first steps in the world of photography. To be highly accessible for a new audience, Unseen has developed the Unseen Collection: a selection of pictures with a prizerange up to €1.000,-.
And Unseen will not just satisfy your hunger for photography. Besides all of the beautiful pictures, you’ll be able te see an array of films from the Unseen Collection in the Ketelhuis. The MC Theatre will set the stage for multiple readings and the launch of the annual ‘Talent Issue; by Foam Magazine. And our bookwurms will also be pleased to hear that there will be a book fair for independent photography book publishers, named Offprint.
Unseen will be in town from the 19th up to the 23th of September in the Westergasfabriek. So whether you just have a true passion for photography or just really curious about the event; Unseen will make you feel right at home!
