Morphosis's new EP inspired by tsunami and nuclear disaster

23-02-2012 | 12.05

On the 24th of March Morphosis will perform at FIBER Festival that wil take place in De Verdieping. The artist’s improvisational style justicifies his name; the organic development in his music is a distinctive element of his style. His new EP “The TEPCO Rrport”, which has been released 20th of February on Morphine records, is a great example of this.

The title of the EP refers to the research report done after the tsunami in Japan and the meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear powerplant. When listening to the two tracks `Exposure` and `Postatomicpoetry` you directly imagine a devastated landscape. Post-apocalyptic emptiness, a siren from afar and crackling noises of falling debris that make the ground tremble. This layering of sound, warping in-and-out form the base of his hypnotic techno. This is what Morphosis does best. At FIBER Festival he will give an improvised live set accompanied by a blast of warped visuals.
